Film vs Digital

Take two rather basic compact cameras (one 35mm, one digital). Add a roll of cheap Agfa film, an ordinary Lexar SD card, some blue skies, Snappy Snaps processing (for the film), and no Photoshop assistance. What do you get? Proof that film is still gorgeous and that the Lomo LC-A is still my favourite camera.

By the way... I got a B in my A-level photography :-)

Here we go again

So, here we are again - A-level results day in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Hand-in-hand with this, as has come to be the norm in recent years, here come the media stories about "Record number of students achieve top A-level grade" and "Expected uplift in A-level results prompts call for standards review". Exams are getting easier, standards are dropping... blah, blah. So it's nice to see an article that tells us people have always been whining about A-level standards, even in the 1950s.

To all who are wating for results and considering their options, good luck. Whatever your results are, today is the start of something great and remember, as my gran always used to say, what's for you won't go past you.
